Realityworks Announces Employee Ownership

Company empowers employees to build on and retain company success

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (July 18, 2012) – Realityworks, Inc. announced today the new Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) at an all-company meeting. The announcement was made by the owners and founders of the company -- Mary and Rick Jurmain -- who will continue their respective roles on the Company’s Board of Directors.

“Realityworks is a unique company that has an impact on society far out of proportion to its size,” said Founder Mary Jurmain. “Our educational programs have changed the lives of millions of young people all over the world. Employee ownership is a way to continue to have that powerful impact and to reward our employees for their contributions to the company's success and to society.”

Rick Jurmain added, “One of our deeply held values is that the people who do the work earn the rewards. Over ten years ago we started looking at ESOP’s for that very reason. We have always managed the business by our values; business is personal, ethical and responsible. Our employees continue to operate Realityworks with that vision and we are delighted to implement this program so that those doing the work get the rewards.”

“The implementation of the ESOP positions Realityworks to retain and attract talented employees with the reward of company ownership,” says Timmothy Boettcher, president and CEO of Realityworks, Inc. “The program instills the entrepreneurial spirit and allows our employees the opportunity to realize long term rewards through our continued success and the growth we see in our future.”

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a defined contribution plan that provides a company's workers with an ownership interest in the company. In an ESOP, companies provide their employees with stock ownership, typically at no cost to the employees. ESOPs are governed by federal pension laws which set forth clear requirements to ensure all employees are treated proportionally the same.

Realityworks was founded in 1994 by Mary and Rick Jurmain with the first rendition of the infant simulator, Baby Think It Over. Over the years it has evolved into Realityworks, Inc. offering several additional infant simulators, evidence-based curricula, business simulation software and welding simulation for instructional settings. Products are used in 58 countries worldwide and 17,000 school districts. The company currently has 50 employees and is located at 2709 Mondovi Road in Eau Claire, Wis.
